Kevin Banks is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Independent Contractor in The State of Illinois. He is a graduate of Cortiva Institute – Chicago School for Massage Therapy. In the past, Kevin has been in the field of business and law, attending schools such as Chicago State University as an accounting major and Harold Washington College becoming a Certified Paralegal. Kevin has worked in the field of Office Management for 18+ years, supporting such places as law firms, like Locke Lord LLP and McGuire Woods, financial firms like Mesirow Financial and Real Estate companies such as @Properties.
At the age of 21, as a member of Prince Hall’s Free and Accepted Masons Wisdom Lodge #102, Kevin had been instilled with the foundation of benevolence, charity and fellowship. Discovering readings that promoted faith, hope and charity helped Kevin become one who is of a kind heart, a person of great optimism and one who is of a spiritual mind. It was because of these great factors that Kevin began to reflect his recent years and had an epiphany. Some things need to go wrong in order for other things to become right and if we wait for anything, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives. “What kind of career can I have…that is fulfilling to others, as well as myself?” It was while helping a friend with shoulder pain that it came to mind…The Art of Massage.
Massage is not only relaxing, but it helps improve the lives of many people. Whether it be for the relief of stress, the alleviation of pain or even a warm touch for the elderly, it is very beneficial to one’s way of living. As a career, this can be lucrative - one can make one’s own hours and be one’s own boss. However, life's journey is not about what you receive, but what you leave behind. It was then, at that moment a path had been discovered and a road was ready to be traveled. Kevin always felt that expectations can be the root of all heartache, yet he already knew what giving up felt like. This time, he wanted to see what would happen if he didn't. After many late nights and plenty of early mornings of hard work, he fulfilled his mission and is now a licensed professional. Kevin works at Massage Envy in Streeterville and has worked at Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa. He has done events for Yelp!, fitness fairs for Fitness Formula Club and has participated at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, but is also working on his own and opening his own practice, Neaux (pronounced "No") Stress Massage, ready to give a new lease on life to those that desire it.
